I will admit it - this is a book that I stopped reading in the middle. It made me feel bad about the protaganist's life, my life, my family's life, my neighbor's life ... like there is only self-delusion and repetitive behavior in this world and nothing else, so why bother do something as silly as read a book all the way through?
It was a lyrical, well-authored book, though. And if you like a meandering unfolding of a something or other, then you'll most likely make it all the way through this novel.
