An interesting and frenetic take on potential socio-political realignment resulting from techno-scientific advancement in America. Sterling has a flare for twists and wheels-within-wheels thinking, though he also tends to get a bit repetitive with his turns of phrase and his characters (in this novel, anyway) got a little unrealistically didactic in their dialogue from time to time. Overall, however, Sterling's unique ideas and swift prose made for enjoyable reading.
