First I have to say that Anne Lamont is a great author and I do like her very much. This book "Rosie" was quite disturbing to me.I understand that alcohol dependency is considered a disease 'and is some what genetic, but I could not find the patience to excuse the mother Elizabeth in this book. The little girl Rosie was a gem and it certainly shows one what strength and smarts a child has to learn at a young age.I tried to put the book down and not finish it as I got so upset with Elizabeth, but I have to hand it to Lamont she made it impossible to not finish the book.If you read this book it is one that will stay with you for some time.

Nophoto-f-25x33 i just finished reading this book,I found it very disturbing. I know Anne Lamont is a an excellent author, and most of her writings are rather harsh, but this one really bothered me. I can not say I had much sympathy for Elizabeth and felt like just closing the book and not finishing it,but it wouldn't leave my mind,so I think Lamont is successful in keeping one interested till the end, even though I actually sorry I read this book.
