it was ok

This book is great if you've never read any other book on writing before. If you have, then this book is probably worse than that one you read. It is a good resource as far as how the publishing end of things works, but Card's examples don't carry a lot of weight, and his references to his own work (Hart's Hope) lose credibility, because Hart's Hope is all in all a boring read.
Again, I'm biased against Card, because everything I've seen and heard from him is egotistical, and his entire career has been based on one book (Ender's Game).
For an book that will actually teach you something about the art of writing, see John Gardner's The Art of Fiction.
