** spoiler alert ** This felt quite Tamora Pierce-y at times, but I wasn't keen on the detailed fight scenes and descriptions of gore. I loved Sorin and the fact that the author had the courage to put in the poison scene and deal with the consequences of that. I didn't like the ending so much. The curse felt a bit contrived -- it's fair enough to give a villain motivation or reason for being evil, but don't absolve the blame entirely -- and the fact that Abheron just gave up during the final battle scene. I also found it a bit weird that an Asian race/culture should live right next door to a Caucasian race/culture.

Erica (daydreamer) I agree about Abheron. I didn't like the ending, how he just gave up. I didn't like his whole character. And now that I think about it, there was a lot of descriptive fight scenes, which I didn't really care for.
