Blood Bound (Mercedes Thompson, Book #2) by Patricia Briggs
This is the second novel in the "Mercy Thompson" series. I must say I enjoyed it more than the first one. Probably because this one was centered around the vamps in town, and we had already gotten all the tedious Were pack stuff out of the way in the first novel. However, this book also bogs down in the middle with some Were and even vamp politics. Rather tedious, but the action picks up quickly, so it isn't as extreme as it was in the first novel.
I must warn vamp fans that the vampires in this series are more like horror genre vamps (disgusting, mean, etc.) than urban fantasy vamps. There is only one urban fantasy-type vamp in this series, Stephan, and he is wonderful. Otherwise, I would have found the details of the vamp plot in this novel unappealing, because I am not a horror genre fan.
