I picked up this book because I won the second book in the series (Texas! Chase) from first reads, and decided to read the series in its entirety. I'm in love with this book, and didn't expect to be as excited about the novel as I was. This is truly the first book I've read that is in a country type setting, and the tone and "ambiance" of the setting was one of the things I loved the most. Additionally, I enjoyed the dynamics between the family (Laurie- the mother, Chase, Lucky, and Sage), and the closeness and love felt between them throughout the story. As a result, I really look forward to reading the next two novels in the series from Chase and Sage's perspectives! Devon (Lucky's love interest) was an interesting character, and while I was excited to keep reading to find out what happened between she and Lucky, I did find myself annoyed with her at times ("Yes, Lucky, I want you!"---"No, Lucky, you must go!"). The back and forth, I'm surprised, didn't drive away Lucky for good. She musta been one special gal! Finally, the love scenes in this book, in my opinion, although greatly descriptive, were beautiful and tender. Reminds me of the feelings I got when reading love scenes in The Notebook. Bravc! Can't wait to go through the next two!
