Barbara Kingsolver is one of my all-time favorite authors but, no matter how hard I tried, I could not get into this book. The characters are thin and poorly drawn, and the plot-line is sketchy at best. This is not at all what I expected from the author of The Poisonwood Bible and Prodigal Summer, two of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. I'm sadly disappointed; I was really looking forward to this one!
