it was amazing
bookshelves: audio-read, mysteries
Read in December, 2009 , read count: 3

This is my favorite of the Goldberg "Monk" series (I'd read the book twice before), so I was thrilled when this one was added to Audible for downloading, and read by Laura Hicks, no less (the same reader who did the audiobook for "Mr. Monk is Miserable"). She did just as good a job with this one as she did with "Miserable," although I found myself slightly less enchanted (this may just be because I knew the story backwards and forwards, however, whereas "Miserable" was completely new). But listening to someone read it gave the more touching passages a new dimension, and I loved having yet another chance to watch Monk take down Goldberg's John Edward stand-in character. (John Edward the "medium," not John Edwards the politician.) I probably won't listen to this one again for a good while, just to give the story a chance to "rest," but it was highly enjoyable -- one of the best.
