In tears of the Giraffe, the story of Mma Ramotswe continues. Her detective agency is well founded, her clients increase, and her personal life is blooming. We accompany her as she tracks a wayward wife, uncovers a dishonest and scheeming maid, and searches for a long-lost American. And as she accomplishes these things, she becomes engaged and acquires a son and daughter.

Although touted as a mystery, I feel the book is more entertaining than puzzling, and it takes you through African Botswana in a descriptive narrative that makes you wish you could see it in person.

I liked this book.
