Lightbulbs are not my thing, uncannily uncooperative things. So naturally I go old school on a dark and stormy night to read a novel as huuge as this one. Using actually tallow candles was all L'Engles fault. Somehow giants globs of tissue who desire nothing but to do your thinking for you is all the more creepy when you cannot see anything beyond the page due to flame blinding (oldies will understand me..it's hard to describe). Once I got over my recently renewed fear of catching fire (that eyeliner pencil really did me in last week) I had no problem letting my taper melt into my cherrywood desk while I was enveloped by Gaiman's Faerie world. Again. Me changing my login password to Tristran might have triggered some buried feelings, but according to a newly aquired critic I am a "feminine jackwagon who can't let go of a childhood crush." Isn't that the title of the month?

Believing that shrinks and docs really have just gut feelings, I started to feel like some sort of Jung driveller, analyzing the world of Wall and what lay beyond. How I yearn for that youthful yesteryear! No psychological imablances! No you-know-what cycles to run men over with! Hoorah for an excuse for a tantrum! Eat all the cookies you want, be chubby and bask in the glowing attention of dozens. Cellulite is cellulite, or was. Until you become an adult. Back to Jung, and explanations for the unexplainable(my luck that I discover authors who introduce the wildly winsome worlds that follow me around). But then, that's just it. This is a 'just-so' story. That's how it is, how it'll stay. So go slap another novel around, psych-wannabe. Ahhhh....so nice to have something that...just is.
