A very entertaining revisionist take on the life of Richard III. The story is as its best when it focuses on some of Richard's closest relationships - with Edward, with Johnny Neville, and of course, with Anne. That said, the romance, while central, was a bit overplayed, and the book is more psychologically interesting in its first half than in its second.

I'll definitely be looking for more of Penman's work.
