A nice collection of essays about being a mother and a wife in the Age of Anxiety. I didn't think the idea of tying the chapters together as a meditation on "Why am I not as happy as I should be?" quite worked since Gideon didn't embark on any specific quest to banish her ennui, but it was a good read, probably more like 3.5 stars (I'm trying to resist being overgenerous with my grading on everything I review).

Lynn Just got this at the library yesterday! Still want to finish my other book first though. Looks great. Does the off kilter cover bother you? I get why they did it, but keep wanting to straighten it! Guess I have a few obsessive/compulsive traits(though looking at my house one might not guess that!).
