Jordan from personal experience, no.

Bill Read SparksNotes.com as a supplement. It puts everything in historical perspective, and it helps you sift through the twenty or so characters who all share the same name. I found it very helpful.

Jade thanks - i'll try it. though i'm starting to feel like in the time it'll take me to read this, i could just write my own epic, multi-generational masterpiece of magic realism.

lucie don't be a wuss. read the damn book the way it was meant to be written. it will reward you i prommise. if i could do it jeeez anyone can.

Elizabeth I got through it, but can't remember a thing from it!

lucie weird b/c i remember soooo many details of this book; it will stay with me forever...

guess everyone's different. :)

JJ that is one of the things abt his books, length, yet the more u read the more u feel the magical waves are abt to splash u in the face.
