I like everything by Jessica Day George and this book was no exception. I especially liked it as a sequel to a 12 Dancing Princesses story, because I have always wondered, what would you actually do with 12 princesses? Are there 12 princes to be found for such girls, even after the first round of princes trying to save the girls got killed? These are questions I remember my 10 year self wondering about, so it was fun to find a book that had an answer. And this book is an inventive Cinderella story to boot, lots of fun. That said, I thought the bad guy was a little bit fiercer, scarier, and well developed in Princess of the Midnight Ball so that is the one place this book didn't quite hold my rapt attention.
