Ah...fairy tales, aren't they grand? Princess Poppy hasn't danced for three long years. Ever since Galen freed them from the clutches of King Under Stone and his maniacal dancing frenzy. She's been sent to live with her mother's cousin, regal and refined Lady Margaret and her husband Lord Richard. There, she meets maid Eleanora, who seems to be under some evil magic.

At odd times, Eleanora (also known as Ellen) is covered in soot, especially when a grand ball is about to happen. During one such ball, a beautifully mesmerizing young lady, Ella, enters and all are entralled, especially Prince Christian. He falls under her spell...but Poppy smells a rat. And, it is The Corley. The Corley is Lady Ella's godmother and is determined that she marry Prince Christian.

Evilness, magic, and all sorts of mayhem ensue, but fiesty, strong-willed Poppy has another plan in mind. Based on Cinderella, this retelling is full of irreverent dialogue and tongue-in-cheek escapades. These books are true treasures...fit for the princess in all of us. Oh, and of course, there is beautiful blue and gold glass slipper involved!
