Of course a book written by Brian Selznick would have delightful, intricate illustrations and The Houdini Box does not disappoint. The drawings are as much, if not more, a part of the story than the text and we are introduced to some little known facts and mysteries about the great magician, Houdini. A short, delightful story full of surprise and childlike imagination, wonder, and believing.

The end of the book introduces us to some facts, newspaper clippings, and data about the magician Harry Houdini.
