Michelle's review
In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner (Goodreads author!)
Eh. I didn't really know if I should have given this two or three stars, but I finally settled on two. It's a good plane read, and so probably also a good beach/pool read, but not an anywhere else read. I got this on sale for a dollar, which was a good price to pay for it. It's not a full price book, but possibly maybe a half price.
I appreciate that the author juggled a large set of characters, but I would have appreciated her even more if the characters' changes had been more...realistic? But then the book probably wouldn't be deemed chick lit, but actual lit. A party girl living in a library, learning to love poetry, and then hanging out with a bunch of old people in Florida? A lawyer quitting her job just because some jerk at the law firm(that she wasn't even really dating) slept with her sister, and becoming a dog walker/errand girl? Um, no. That's not real life. That's just ridiculous.
Also, I had problems buying the whole grandmother staying out of her grandchi...more

Have you seen the movie? I saw it and then wondered if i should read the book... maybe i'll borrow it from the library if i get in a chick lit mood.
Hello!
I watched the movie right after I finished reading it. Discovered it on HBO right after I settled in at a hotel. Did you like the movie? I kept trying to decide if I would have liked the movie more if I hadn't read the book. Though I gripe about the main characters' transformations in the book, I appreciated them more in the book than in the movie...
