Sheila's review
Lipstick Jungle: A Novel by Candace Bushnell
I really didn’t care for this book. There are three main reasons why:
1. Husbands were seen as an accessory, and cheating on them wasn’t a big deal. (If you know me I’m sure you know how much that pissed me off. And considering how it was first mentioned on page 11…)
2. Apparently the only way for a woman to be happy (and successful) is be make a lot of money and have a big fancy career. I lost count how many times someone said something negative about women who stay at home and let their husbands “provide” for them. (Again, I was pissed.)
3. Not only did I not identify with any of the characters, I didn’t want to.
