did not like it
bookshelves: mystery-suspense
Read from August 01 to 11, 2010

Got interested in this because of the Masterpiece Mystery TV miniseries starring Kenneth Branagh.
Unlike the miniseries, the book seemed dreary and flat to me. I didn't care for the short, choppy sentences and frequent use of passive voice. Disappointing.

Chris Maybe it's the translation?

I actually like the Swedish Wallander movies better.

Nicole I did wonder about the translation; but I don't see why anyone would turn something into short, choppy sentences if the original text wasn't in that style.

Chris The reason why I asked was the one I read The Fifth Woman wasn't like that.

Nicole Hhm...interesting.
