Beautiful writing, think I developed a little bit of a thing for Isak Dinesen, but there's no real story. I liked the first half of the book much better than the second half, which mostly consisted of very short (one or two page) stories or observations about Africa or friends. Although it's based on her experiences in Africa, the book is really not an autobiography; you don't learn much about her (Isak Dinesen or Karen Blixen) except through what she experiences in Africa, and even her romance with Denys Finch-Hatton is not really discussed.
