Beth Michaels is really smart, she has skipped through high school and is spending her senior year at the local community college gathering units to save money when she goes away to Columbia- early acceptance.
Just before her 18th birthday things start to go sideways... she sees dots streaming and floating about people. This progresses to ropes and bands. When she meets up with Richie Mac suddenly she sees so much more- life stories,a barrage of stunning information. Suddenly she is not on track to Columbia but sequestered in a psychiatric facility. She knows what she sees is real, why is her mother locking her away? Who is sending her golden envelopes with clues about her life? How do they even find her?
A mystery, fantasy, love story and chase braided into a tale of transformation, forgiveness, love, trust and generosity told in a cinematic style with clever dialog and witty phrasing. We are left, as is Beth with more questions than answers- one wonders, is there more to come?
