<br/>     Some fantasies can be really out there and hard to understand but Inkheart is a fantasy that more expresses life. Of course weird things do happen but each character has to fight for their life or their loved one's. They have to find themselves and struggle through fear and find love. It left me feeling excited. Every action they made was unpredictable and had great meaning. The mood was really strong along with the tone of the authors explanation. The author really wanted you to feel anxious and excited. So that your heart rate would rise making you want to read more. I definitely could not put the book down and I soon found the theme within the book. The theme of Inkheart was life. The story was full of love, fear, and realizing who you really are. So it wasn't a mind-boggling fantasy it was a life lived, loved ones found, and enemies crushed.
<br/>     The story started out on one normal day when Meggie asks her father to read aloud to her for he never would when she was younger. Not even the shortest of book, he refused but failed to explain why. Meggie finally finds out when a strange man, which later she finds out is named Dustfinger, comes to their house in search for a long lost friend. The man is from Inkheart, not a different country but a different world. Very different from anything anyone would ever know, a book. Her father told her that one day long ago he had read aloud to Meggie and her mother. From out of nowhere Dustfinger and a few others had appeared in their living room and her mother had vanished. Without much more to add he tells her that he can read things and characters out of books into the real world.   From that day on Meggie, her father, and Dustfinger find themselves involved in an evil plan of the enemy, Capricorn. He was one of the men who had came from Inkheart the night they appeared in their living room. They all fight for their lives in a nonstop adventure.
