This was the first John Grisham book I ever read. It is also my most favorite of his. I read it along with "The Firm" (which I BLEW through). Because of how fast I read "The Firm", I decided to read this ONLY at the pool that summer. Took me all summer to read it and by the end I was dying to know what was going to happen, but it was the longest its ever taken me to finish a book and it made it so much better. I was so HUNGRY to know what was going to happen to these characters.
I learned that intolerance is still alive in our country. And that its a sad state of affairs. And after living in the south, I can understand how John Grisham came to write this book.
You can learn a lot from this book. Its one of his best in my opinion.
