This was my second reading of this book. I enjoyed it so much a few years ago that I decided to read it again when a 3rd linked book came out. A very well written serial killer thriller. Includes graphic details of the very deviant crimes - for me this made it more realistic but not for the squeamish. The reader is told who the killer is before the end of the book and is an observer on the facts that the police know to see if they will find the answer. Also has an interesting subplot for the main police character that he is trying to solve the disappearance of his brother as a child- the way that this never gets resolved gives the reader a sense of the frustration that the character was feeling. This book motivated me to find more by this author immediately.
