the twilight world of the vampires, best-friend of the enigmatic Vishous and painfully in love with the etheral Marissa, a sad aristoricat vampire. This is the best book of the series (so far), a delicate dance through the
complicated emotions of these three vivid characters. I'm utterly fascinated by Vishous and have been since the first book so his large chunks of narrative in this book thrilled me no end. And Butch, sigh - great, great character - the hard-edged burnout cop with a secret yen to save the world. I'm a sucker for that stuff, LOL. Ward does better with
male characters but even Marissa turned out to be a stand-up woman, I cheered when she said ENOUGH and shuffled off her delicate persona to go after what she wanted. Highly, highly ...more
