i randomly picked up this book for free at a hotel i was staying in. i think i was too focused on sweet valley high books when i was supposed to be reading this as a kid. it was fun to read--although half the time i really couldn't understand the pirate speak. my favorite thing about it was that right when i was sure something really bad was going to happen, the narrator would tell you that the "mistake" was going to turn out to help the good guys in the long run. so you could sit back and relax and see what happens instead of getting all worked up about the impending doom. there's enough stress in life, i don't need to worry about the danger on a make-believe island.
