I absolutely loved this book/story and found it an easy, enjoyabe read that kept me up way past my bedtime! I don't know if it was the inclusion of aspects of The Little Mermaid (one of my all time favorite fairy tales), the romance, or the characters themselves, but Lackey definately has a winner w/ Fortune's Fool. As w/ her other books, I liked how she included characters from the previous book(s), and retold/recreated a fairy tale that was unique and interesting. Her use of humor, and spin on The Tradition, also added to my enjoyment. Although this book can stand alone, I would encourage readers to read the other two books. I would definately recommend this book to other readers, and look forward to reading book 4, The Snow Queen.
