In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson
I've been considering a trip to Australia and read this to get more info. It's terrific! Bill Bryson is both hilarious and thorough in his study of the history, culture, and geography of the country. He does a nice job of examining the complicated history of the Aboriginal people as well.
