The book I read for my bookclub Christmas selection. This book was different than most Christmas book. It wasn't a "tear-jerker" book but a book of a group of 12 women, some of who were good friends with each other, and others who weren't. The women got together once a year to exchange their cookies, a story to go with their cookies. Even the container had to have meaning. In the exchange of cookie we come to know each character. There are very strict rules to abide however, they are not enforced when it comes to the individual members.

This is a book of love and friendship and the stages of women's lives. I enjoyed the book. I also enjoyed the page or two at the end of each person's story telling about the history and scientific properties of certain ingedients of the cookies such as: cinnamon, baking powder, salt, flour, butter, etc.

An enjoyable book that is a little different than most "Christmas Books".
