I’ve read four of Hopkins’ novels in blank verse now and I think: that’s enough, at least for now. I’ve read her overwrought suburban female adolescents brimming with problems. This is the continuation of Kristina from Crank’s story. She not brimming with problems, she's just got the one, but it's a doozy. She’s a meth addict. That’s the plot, the conflict, the setting, even.

"When you love someone, you don't want to hurt them, even if they deserve to be hurt. When you love someone, you want to hurt them, even when they don't deserve to be hurt."

I recommended this and Crank to students who were assigned Go Ask Alice. I read Go Ask Alice way back when I was in high school, maybe I'll reread it.
