Here's a fact: I don't like futuristic satire. I mean. It's always blah blah blah corporate this and blah blah blah takeover that and people are dumber and machines are everywhere and School (tm) and it all just feels to me like a line of cheap jokes being lobbed at basically what amounts to a society = wet paper towels, like, it doesn't take that much to punch through our faces anymore. And all of that stuff is in Feed, so, really the two of us were up against a wall together and one of us was going to have to bend.

What is good about Feed is that underneath all the School (tm) and the Weatherbee & Crotch half-jokes is an actual sort of genius story about a boy who for a second thinks he might change his ways because of an unusual girl, but then when it gets right down to it, he finds himself preferring what is hotwired into his head.
