The saintly Warden, beset on all sides by those both against and for him, is a marvel. I've read this book several times, and it retains its charm. I'm particularly fond of Archdeacon Grantly, who is a man I've met in real life over and over. If you like gentle humor, don't mind an author directly addressing the reader, and are willing to suspend disbelief, this is a great book for a relaxing read.

199326 Oh, yes; even in the horrid, horrid role of Slope, there's something about Rickman....
