it was amazing
Read from May 28 to 31, 2010

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this novel. Moran's attention to historical detail was absolutely top-notch. It's one of the best historical fiction books I think I've encountered in a long time - great balance of history and entertainment. There was one plot element that really bugged me -- something not historically accurate, something included simply to move the plot along -- that I thought was unnecessary and detracted from the overall high quality of the book, but other than that I loved it.

Kimberly I really enjoyed this one. Michelle Moran is joining in on a discussion of it in the Historical Fictionistas group and she is incredibly nice and answers everyone's questions in detail. I'm a fan! I already ordered her other novels The Heretic Queen and Nefertiti.
