** spoiler alert ** This art mystery, which stumped the police and art experts, is solved by Petra and Calder, two children living in Chicago. By not ignoring coincidences and finding help in the most unusual of places, Petra and Calder find the missing painting and escape the bad guy. This book was filled with mystery, suspense, and clues.

I had difficulty with the amount of detail and coincidence that, in the end, turned out to be completely superfluous. I was also annoyed that the bad guy was a character barely mentioned and all the clues had to be explained in the last chapter in order to wrap everything up. It was very Agatha Christie/Sherlock Holmes without as good of style.
