Okay so confession: I read this book because of a boy. Judge me if you like but he said it hit him close to home and, hey, I'm not opposed to graphic novels so I have it a go.

The pictures or wonderful and I enjoyed (spoiler alert) the religious undertones with ultimately lead to the protagonist's agnosticism PLUS he is very accurate about love and life.

With that being said I will venture out and claim Craig Thompson tries too hard. It's a tricky thing, writing from your life and though it was good and it helped me understand the aforementioned boy I would say it's nothing too special.

But you should read it.

becca sporky I agree with you. I didn't read it cause of anyone, I just heard other people say it was pretty good, and I love comics and graphic novels. I always like a good love story (I'm a hopeless romantic), but I don't really think it was too special either.
