Jane Austen drives me crazy. "Ooohh you don't have to be in love as long as everything is stable in the end!" Ha! In "Sense and Sensibility" SPOILER none of the main characters get what/who they want plus the moral of the story is that, with perserverence, one can perhaps learn to love the mediocre person they DO end up with. What sort of message is that? Can we also note that Jane Austen spent her adult life sharing a bed with her sister? What does she know about love? Answer: nothing.
