This is a great book about the importance of freedom. I'm not refering to the esoteric concept of freedom that is thrown around so casually in today's media to suit the given political situation. Instead, this story is about why it is so important for humans to have choices and experiences that expand their own thinking. Without memory, we would continue to make the same mistakes again and again and never grow as individuals. If your personal experiences are important to you and you believe in the existentialist concept that the self is created moment to moment by each new experience, then you will like this book.
