Dawn's review
The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashares
Ehh.
Was looking forward to reading this book. Heard great things about it.
Ehh.
To me, it was very predictable and at many points it felt contrived and forced. I actually had to force myself to finish the book. I was pretty bored through it all.But I kept hoping it would get better. I was disappointed.
And while I loved the closeness that Riley and Alice shared (as sisters..I always had wished for that between myself and my sister), I hated how Alice had no identity (and seemed OK with that fact) because of it.
It did make me long to own a cottage somewhere on the water. I LOVE that idea. We did that as kids and it was such an amazing time. I loved it.To bad this book will not ever evoke those loving thoughts from me. :-)
**Would have given this 2 1/2 stars if we had 1/2 stars to give. :-)
