Another fine piece of work by Delillo. Although I recognize that Underworld is his masterpiece, I personally enjoyed reading this one more, mainly because it's not so long. Libra is a real page turner which, given the fact that you already know what's going to happen, is all the more impressive. The author paints a fascinating portrait of Oswald and the other figures in involved in the Kennedy assassination. The only real danger with this book is that Delillo does such a fantastic job with the story that by the end of the book I had to remind myself that it was a fictional portrayal of one of the most indelible historical moments of the 20th century. I would especially recommend this book to anyone who would like a good introduction to Delillo but is a little bit intimidated/reticent about tackling the epic Underworld.
