** spoiler alert ** A beautiful, and at times, sad ending to not Hekat's story. I admit to crying when I finished this book. Despite the fact that Hekat was a villain she was my favorite villain, and so her death and her final, if not one of her only, moments of tenderness was extremely touching. I was kind of rooting for a Rhian/Zandakar romance, but I understand why it wasn't done. In fact, Rhian irritated the living fuck out of me at times. I saw her, often, as a traitor when it came to the subject of Dexterity or Zandakar; I felt as if, in the beginning, she betrayed two people who did there best to take care of and protect her against a country that obviously did not wander her on the throne.
