Books that are the basis for screen plays often have an unusual plot twist that you can't anticipate.* In our post-Bridget Jones world, I expected it to be in fine Helen Fielding, Sophia Kinsella fashion. It turns out that the plot had a fun twist, that although I knew what was going to happen I wanted to see how.
It definitely classifies as a beach read and fit my life the last couple of days perfectly, which though there was no beach, I had as much time and attention to devote to a book as one does with sand between your toes and the frisbees hitting your book. It kept me going and provided much entertainment and distraction as I sat in my car during many a rainy bus stop, ballet lesson, etc.

* Asking for Trouble was turned into The Wedding Date in 2005, most memorable for starring Dermot Mulroney. (What is the fuss about that guy? _Not_ my type at all!)
