I actually read this originally when I was still in college years and years ago, but I pulled it out recently and re-read it. Of all the books I have read on short stories, this is by far one of the easiest to read and follow. It's very much like a class within a book with step by step instructions on how to create your "map". It is concise and makes you think about aspects of short stories you would never have given a second thought to. The neat thing about the method taught in this book is that it can be applied to longer works of fiction as well.
