Chloe and her fellow young supernaturals may have escaped the Edison Group, but they're hardly safe. Their former captives are still on the hunt for them, and some of the people on their own side may also be keeping secrets.

This is only a partly satisfying conclusion, since a lot of threads are left hanging (including the fate of one character). Unfortunately there were no surprises as good as the jolts we got in the earlier books, this one was more driven by action than character or story. Since I hadn't read either of the previous books since they were released, I could have used a couple of quick recaps about the demi-demon and the other supernatural teens.

The pace of the ending felt awkward, some resolutions seemed rushed while others got hardly any attention. There were several new developments brought up but never actually addressed, so including them in the first place seemed pointless.
