i follow this mother daughter book club blog and it got rave reviews!it is very cozy, and does it really give an accurate picture of eight-graders in the US today?
ok, so they live in concorfd, no divorced parents, one dad died conveniently before, so there could be a modern touch, a patchwork family in the book!
i have this book from the sixties, by madeleine l'engle, "meet the austins" and it feels very much like this, very old fashioned, would modern teenagers really like and relate to a book that is more than a hundred years-old as their bookclub choice "daddy long legs"?
charming, i read it myself, but still?

Laura de Leon I don't know if you are still interested in comments, since it's been a while since you wrote your review. My 13 year old daughter enjoyed this book (her review is at http://blog.imbookingit.com/2011/07/1..., and is here on goodreads as well). She went on to read Daddy Long Legs, which she liked as well.
