liked it

i follow this mother daughter book club blog and it got rave reviews!it is very cozy, and does it really give an accurate picture of eight-graders in the US today?
ok, so they live in concorfd, no divorced parents, one dad died conveniently before, so there could be a modern touch, a patchwork family in the book!
i have this book from the sixties, by madeleine l'engle, "meet the austins" and it feels very much like this, very old fashioned, would modern teenagers really like and relate to a book that is more than a hundred years-old as their bookclub choice "daddy long legs"?
charming, i read it myself, but still?

Laura de Leon I don't know if you are still interested in comments, since it's been a while since you wrote your review. My 13 year old daughter enjoyed this book (her review is at, and is here on goodreads as well). She went on to read Daddy Long Legs, which she liked as well.
