The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, #1)
by Philip Pullman
by Philip Pullman
*Review based on audio version
A wonderful combination of science, theology, fantasy and magic, The Golden Compass tells the adventure of precocious orphan Lyra as she races to the North to save her friend Roger, her Uncle Asriel and other kidnapped children being used for celestial experiments with Dust all with the help of an armored bear, her daemon Pantalaimon, a gyptian clan and a golden compass.
A great story that transcends all ages and having it read to you with a wide host of voices makes it even better. I can't wait to read the second book.
