Just thoughts, really. Not sure I want to 'review' a book I've read.

This book was a gift and I think it was given to me with a sense of thoughtfulness because I'm a single father. I'm very much in my daughter's life, but there's always that fear that somehow our connection will get lost as she grows up.

As for the book, the characters were thin for me. A female character written by a man seems difficult to do, and I think this was a shortcoming in his work. Wally Lamb, I think, did it wonderfully in She's Come Undone.

But, truthfully, I finished this book about 8/9 months ago, and I can't say for sure that I am not leaving out good/excellent moments or passages. I just remember not being particularly moved in the end, and because of the topic, and how it relates to me, that's what I was hoping for.
