Bluebeard (Delta Fiction) by Kurt Vonnegut
old man painter moves out east and sets foot on a great estate with a widow. he loves her and in his daily interactions with her and some of the towns folk are comical and someone seinfeld like situations.
there is quite the big thing in the barn that is kept much a secret that keeps you going the entire time. the relationship Rabo has with the widow is entertaining.
