This trilogy is historical and inspirational. It's hard to get interested in the beginning of the first book, but if you stick with it, you will become very invested in the characters. It's set in the gladiator days, and the mindset of the people is very savage and calloused. And one character, who is a true Christian, changes the hearts of a family who has taken her in as a slave. What's fascinating is how they slowly begin to soften but don't realize that it's Hadassah's example of God's love that is restoring their hardened hearts. Once you finish one book, you can't wait to read the next one!
