Stream-of-Consciousness is definitely an interesting style of novel, and it takes getting used to - but it's worth it. The "so it goes" after every mention of death seemed clever at first but became dangerously annoying. This story is very thought-provoking as well as riveting in a train wreck/obsession with dark humor and death kind of way. I didn't care for the casual treatment of Christ (especially towards the end), but this type of treatment is neither unique nor unexpected. I did like the many mentions/references to other literary works such as Arabian Nights. Overall, this is a fast-paced and captivating read.
